SCKESC's Mission Statement
South Central Kansas Education Service Center will maintain a clear vision, secure current connections, and provide quality education for the students, educators, administrators and communities of south central Kansas.

Who Makes Up SCKESC
The service center is made up of educational agencies consisting of unified school districts, interlocals, cooperatives and community colleges.

Board Of Directors

The service center is governed by a Board of Directors consisting of one member from the board of education of  seven Unified School Districts entering into the Interlocal Agreement. Each of the seven board of educations appoints a representative to the Board of Directors. The term of office of the members of the Board of Directors expires concurrently with their term of office as local board of education members. The Board of Directors meets monthly.

Administrative Council

Each district and organization which contracts with the service center appoints an administrative representative to serve on the Administrative Council and represent that district or organization in all activities of the Administrative Council.

Each district or agency which contracts services from The Service Center and pays the base membership fee for participation shall have one voting member on the Administrative Council.

The Administrative Council shall select from its members a President and President Elect.

The Administrative Council:

• Meets monthly
• Provides direction regarding needed programs, development of programs, assessment of program needs and evaluation of program performance
• Recommends policies to the Board of Directors
• Provides membership to committees which function to develop and maintain programs as needed and requested by the membership
• Selects an Executive Committee to act on behalf of the Administrative Council

The Executive Committee:

• Meets monthly
• Selected by the Administrative Council
• Acts as an extension of the Administrative Council in recommending:
  • Policies to the Board
  • Program design
  • Service center operations in collboration with the Executive Director
