6-12 Science, Social Studies and Technical Subjects ELA College and Career Ready Standards
The College and Career Ready Standards have been written regarding literacy in the 6-12 science, social studies and technical subjects’ classroom. Teachers of these classes should be knowledgable about the standards and ready to begin incorporating the ideas into their curriculum. Problem is... what does “author’s purpose” mean? Where can teachers who are unaccustomed to directly teaching literacy get started in finding resources and understanding the standards’ directives. We can help! Participants will receive access to an online database of strategies, instructional tools and sample lessons. Bring your laptops!!

Pathways to Reading II
Pathways to Reading Level 2 is a practicum experience for teachers designed to answer teacher questions, model PTR instructional strategies, assessments, pacing and use of materials. Students are assigned to pairs of participants for 2 hours a day. Instructors guide and model the application of PTR strategies. Teachers must have completed PTR first five days of training.
